The second Evolution M3 was built for homologation purposes, specifically homologating of aerodynamic
parts. Five hundred examples had to be produced, and BMW beat that by a scant margin of one (at five
hundred and one for total production). These cars were never imported to the United States -- Great Britain
saw some forty examples officially reach their shores.
While not as desirable as the third Evolution M3 -- the Sport Evolution -- the Evo II is a special
M3 with quite a number of desirable features, as you will see in the following pages.
