Now, this is going to be biased since you are after all at this website, but the ultimate car for the ultimate gathering of ultimate driving machines is of course the M3. Not only will this car carry you and all your stuff in air conditioned comfort across the country through 100+ degree heat in the middle of Kansas, it will be very competitive in any event in which you choose to participate and is very affordable when compared to the E36 M3 ( from here on out referred to as a 330is or 332is). |

At least when (notice I didn't say if) the AC breaks or the car dies on the side of the road it still looks and feels like it means business in competition, right out of the box. |

Although the diehards will argue that the 2002 is the quintessential enthusiast car, it's hard to beat the performance of a stock M3 with a streetable 2002. With the price of M3's dropping, this has become the BMW enthusiasts car of choice. What this really means is that when your sitting on the side of the road, people are more likely to stop and offer help if you are in the M3. Now the 2002 would be easier to fix, but at least you will have company as the Kansas sun beats down on your head. |
